Caring for Your Introvert

I came across this and had to share it. So freaking true.

I wonder how many extroverts read this thinking they are introverts.

It may be cool to be an extrovert, but it's also cool to "admit" that you're an introvert regardless, if only to feign the ability to silently contemplate.

Here is some interesting discussion about the article by geeky introverts.

I could very well be one of those extroverts, now wondering if I'm somewhere in between. I know when you put Sarah and me next to each other, I'm obviously the extrovert.

This describes Sarah perfectly as an introvert, and it's one of the reasons I admire her. I remember years of our teenage life where I would sit next to her in her family's pew before the meeting began and just chatter on and then ask her what was wrong.

I don't do that anymore. At least, I don't think so. But I also don't have an urge to be with people. I don't enjoy going to parties full of people I don't know; rather, I prefer intimate gatherings where I can be engaged in conversation but not be the center of attention. I spend days alone in my apartment, content with just a book. I rarely use the phone unless someone calls me.

I think my conclusion is that most people are measured on a scale, with introvert being on one side and extrovert being on the other.
